Floor Lead – 1st and 2nd Shift Opportunities

Summary

The role of the Floor Lead is to organize and monitor production activities to meet daily production standards and goals in assigned areas.  The focus is to maximize production by minimizing downtime, coordinate material needs with the Staging Coordinator, and complete production paperwork ensuring accuracy to meet daily production goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Essential duties include completion of production paperwork on each line, recording downtime, and ensuring machines run continuously throughout the day without interruption.
  • Oversee production on assigned lines and verify products and materials are ready each day.  Any obstacles affecting production are handled including staffing issues keeping the Production Manager informed.
  • Ensure that all production employees adhere to all company policies and procedures, quality guidelines and GMP’s.  Ensure that all Food Safety Policies are being followed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to create strong morale and promote working as a team while holding production lines accountable to results.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required

Food Safety and Compliance Specialist 

General Summary

Maintain detailed records of quality audits and ensure accurate up to date documentation, collaborate with production team to ensure products and processes comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements. This role will support the quality department and serve as a role model to the quality team. 

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Quality Manager and Compliance Manager to provide assistance in administration of the total quality program ensuring that all internal quality standards are maintained.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify potential risks and participate in corrective action activities in food safety practices.
  • Understand and update the SQF program ensuring accuracy of compliance materials and data records and ensure proper labeling.
  • Participate in audits and traceability activities
  • Provide training and support to quality staff
  • Manage special projects as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred and minimum 5-10 years related work experience in food manufacturing environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • SQF Practitioner Certification required

Experience

  • Experience working in a regulated or food safety culture subject to GMP’s and food safety compliance requirements.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be a team player and able to communicate effectively

Quality Technician II

Supports the quality team in standard processes to ensure compliance and works with production staff to ensure inspection and testing procedures are maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Works independently to inspect finished products, raw materials, supplies, equipment for adherence to quality specifications at all locations.
  • Conduct line checks in assigned POD and perform testing as needed, perform weight and portion control procedures as required.
  • Verify samples and pull for retention.
  • Complete all required documents in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitor assigned areas to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and compliance to all food safety procedures.
  • Verify production line is identifying lot numbers of ingredients in production to support Trace and Recall procedures.
  • Work with quality team to monitor corrective and preventive action activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with production and management.
  • Provide training to new QA Technicians
  • Participate in Product Reviews
  • Must comply with HACCP monitoring and food safety duties.
  • Cross train on internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Advanced education preferred.
  • Good communication skills to include the ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Basic math skills required and basic computer skills required.
  • Ability to use simple inspection tools such as but not limited to scales, thermometers, and test standards, micrometers and microbial swabbing equipment.
  • Must be a team player and work well with fellow employees.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in quality environment required
  • Knowledge of food safety in manufacturing facility is preferred

Machine Operator

Openings for both 1st shift (6:45 am – 5:00 pm) and 2nd shift (2:45 pm-11:30 pm).

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operation activities to ensure product & materials are ready for startup
  • Work independently on production floor performing tasks to operate assigned machine to meet daily production goals. Accurate completion of production paperwork is required.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise.
  • Participate in sanitary functions to include cleaning equipment with work unit.
  • Adhere to safe work practices following all GMP guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Able to work get along with others in team environment
  • Must have proven record of good attendance

Experience

  • Experience as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Knowledge of food safety a plus

Compensation: $18.00 – $24.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 40-50 hours per week
